Here’s our indie rock playlist for September 2023, featuring the best in independent rock and punk music:
Enjoy the end of the summer with our indie rock playlist for September 2023, featuring the best in independent rock and punk and everything in between.
Unrehearsed (Abandoned Pools) – Underrated song from the underrated Abandoned Pools to kick off our indie rock September playlist. The intro has a kind of 70’s 10cc sound before it gets into a softer groove than most think of who are exclusively familiar with their debut (shoutout to Clone High).
Innocent Party (Jetty Bones) – I love the timbre of the vocalist of Jetty Bones against the angsty midwest emo instrumental on “Innocent Party”.
Velodrome (2nd Grade) – Excellent indie rock number from 2nd Grade on Velodrome as they channel that 90’s power pop meets midwest vibes.
Bad Man (Katy Kirby) – Great vocals over what sounds like a jazzier track from The Band (love those tack piano and guitar solos).
Attention (The Aces) – This is a deeper but a great cut from The Aces’ “I’ve Loved You For So Long” record.
American Teenager (Ethel Cain) – Cain’s voice soar over an epic instrumental tapestry on her “American Teenager”. Anyone else clock that “Don’t Stop Believing” guitar nod?
